Miniapples is looking for writers. If you have html experience, that
would be nice, but is not a requirement. We have this Newsletter that
comes
out monthly, but we are finding it's hard to fill up. A very small
percentage of our members are making submissions. This is a volunteer
organization
that sinks or swims based on member participation.
We are looking for any kind of Mac related news, info, how-to, or tips
articles. If you have a Mac related skill, say you know all about VectorWorks
or Photoshop and would like to write a tips article that would be great!
If you submit news, please include your source.
We have two means of publishing articles. Everything is eligible for the
newsletter. However, we also have a web site with a Member's Only Articles
Section. This is where how-to, and tips articles can go (in addition to
the Newsletter). The content is currently pretty meager. The best thing
about html, is that it is dynamic with nice pictures. If they are needed
to illustrate something clearly. Go to www.miniapples.org and click on
"Articles" in the navbar. On the log-in form, select Miniapples
and type in the password. The password is available on the BBS and in
the newsletter.
This is where your html experience would come in handy, but it's not a
requirement. If you are familiar with html, submit it as such. Otherwise
submit it as plain text, or AppleWorks. Graphics can be included if needed.
We have two groups of people- one who works on the newsletter and myself
who maintains the Miniapples web site. To facilitate this, it would be
nice if you were signed up to the BBS, but it's not required. If you'd
like to sign up for the BBS, go to www.miniapples.org and click on "BBS"
in the navbar. However, if you would prefer not to mess with the BBS,
you can submit newsletter articles directly to John
Pruski, preferable in plain text. Contact John at 952-938-2818.
To submit articles for the Miniapples web site, send them to Dave
Peck. Or give me a call at 651-423-5711. Html preferred or plain
text, AppleWorks and include graphics, if they are needed.
Remember the Newsletter is only as good as we make it. Thanks!
