Mac Training Resources:
Apple Retail Stores offer free Apple computer, iPhone and iPod, and software training Workshops at their stores.
Workshop training schedules are listed on the website of the individual store. They cover a wide variety of topics on hardware and software to get you started and advancing. Typically they last 1 to 1.5 hours.
Some workshops require prior registration because of space limitations, but they are free to the public. You don’t need to own a Mac or the software. This allows you to see if a Mac is for you.
Workshops are different than One To One training. One To One’s requires a one-year subscription when buying a new Mac, but you get individual training on the project of your choice once a week. It’s a great way to improve your competency on your new Mac and the applications you use.
The Mall Of America store, as expected, offers the greatest number of workshops on the broadest variety of topics. The other three Metro stores offer a good selection of free workshops also. Check the websites of stores in your area.
More information can be obtained through Apple Retail Stores online.
Apple also offers the Genius Bar at Apple Stores where free 15 to 20 minute sessions with trained technicians can solve many problems and answer most questions on your Mac, iPhone, etc. If there’s going to be a charge for a repair they’ll let you know ahead of time. Reservations are needed and can be made through your Apple Store’s website.
First Tech Computer offers Apple related training classes and some free seminars.
